This is not true. The vast majority of armors I've found, blue, purple or gold, didn't have any insignias at all.

I've gotten one insignia so far.

I think it would be a lot better if the insignias were sold by a merchant with constant prices rather than a trader that fluctuates. It would suck if you just blew all your cash on shiny new 15k armor; then find out the insignias you want are upto 10k each.

I think perhaps if we give it time more will start to appear. Why? most people are saving them atm. This means the demand is comparitively high to the supply. Plus as more players progress through Nightfall and/or purchase the chapter, there will be more sources (supply).

could you not go back to tyria/cantha and buy a set of armor there and salvage insignias?

insignias are exclusive to nightfall armors at this point. you couldn't salvage insignias off of canthan or tyria armor cos they work completely differently...

this issue sounds like it's going to be the bane of every elonian character....

Or every character that you want to craft Elonian armors for.

I've been losing sleep playing the game since it was released. I have seen Radiant insignias in the rune trader once during that time, and it was sold out when I clicked it.

I've only managed to buy one radiant insignia so far (for quite a lot more than what the rune trader would have sold it at), and with the armors that I want to craft, I'll need 28 of them (32 if I want to get the endgame warrior armor).

The insignia idea is beautiful on paper, but the current implementation leaves much to be desired.

I've posted an idea in the game suggestion forum for having them add insignia crafters to the game. If you want to go voice your opinions on the matter, check it out here:

I think they should increase the drop rate for the new armor options, or just have a trader in place for insignia’s only. Waiting for it to pop up at the rune trader is just ridiculous and I’m sure in the hell won’t buy it from any where else.

Well I have found when I apply it to my armor piece that already has a rune, it over writes it. So it is either I have that piece runed or with an insignia. Or am I doing it wrong :-/

Default Insignias - Global effect?

Hi all, are these global, I added oned to my ele armours gloves, +5 armour with req 9 in each element.

Armour + 5 req 9 fire
Armour + 5 req 9 water
Armour + 5 req9 air
Armour + 5 req 9 earth

I'm guess the + 5 armour is global to the set and not just a boast to a single piece when hit there?

Though I did not try out, I doubt so. Armor bonus always applied to the local part where you were hit.

There is a problem with insignas.

They can be used only on night fall armor; but what about assasin and ritualist one????

only for pvp?
in that case, why rune traders have this type of insignas?

can someone help me?

The problem with insignas it that they rarely drop by themselves and they often have a rune with them.

Assassins and Ritualists coming from Cantha can have armour made for them in Nightfall... so obviously they have insignias for their armour too. Insignias are also for Zenmai, the assassin heroine you get in Cantha.

I could not agree more, even having insignias at collectors would be more beneficial then the current system. Maybe after a month we might see more insignia runes for Paragon and Dervishes at the Rune trader. Right now you can’t test what armor would be best for your play style. For example on Shing Jea you could “test” different armor styles for assassins, +7 energy, or +15 armor when attacking. By the time you left Shing Jea Island you had an opportunity to test 4 suits of armor with 4 equivalent insignias each.

That said…

I can see why they went the insignia route as it will be more beneficial a long time from now but I think it was poorly implemented.

I'm happy with the insignia system. I had only 3 drops in 2 Days on the mainland and bought 12 at the rune trader.1 I used for my tyrian char and the rest on the heros.

I don't want to have a perfect armor after 4.5 days because I need something else that keeps me busy not only missions and quests.
I'm happy everytime I find an insignia. If they would drop more frequently it would take away the joy of finding something new.
